Knowing that China's rice wine is the world's oldest alcoholic beverage and having seen some of the beautiful ancient wine vessels at the National museum, I was very keen for my tasting session. I was not disappointed. Joyce described the delicately flavoured wines wonderfully to me as I sipped slowly allowing the history of this ancient tradition linger on my palate. The surrounding atmosphere was pleasant and Time seemed to disappear as I enjoyed the moment; a great tasting sensation. If you are in Beijing don't miss the chance to meet Joyce and her rice wine tastings.

The rice wine tasting was really fantastic for so many reasons. Not only was the wine itself DELICIOUS, but you get ten generous samples and a whole load of homemade snacks and fruit to go with it. Joyce, a native Beijinger, is a super welcoming and knowledgeable host and can answer all your questions. The space is also gorgeously serene. This is definitely a place I’d bring all my friends to, especially if they’re just visiting china for a short time. Also...what a great date spot!

My wife and I were very fortunate to hear about Nuoyan from a friend, and we were particularly fortunate to enjoy some via a 12 sample tasting poured by one of Nuoyan's partners - Ms. Joyce Pan. Not only was the rice wine absolutely delicious, the atmosphere at Nuoyan was absolutely lovely and Joyce was very charming and educational. If you are looking for a break from the shopping and hustle and bustle of Beijing's cultural sites, Nuoyan is a great alternative and the perfect tasty and tipsy experience. We also took home 2 bottles for the upcoming holidays. Can't wait to enjoy them.
